Why is it important for us to study the history of our neighbors to the north? For one thing, nothing but a simple, invisible borderline separates us. People travel back-and-forth over that border all the time. Inasmuch as we should study our own history, it is equally important to study the history of the people and populations surrounding us. Only then can we even attempt to better understand all of mankind in general.
When teaching history of any kind, it is essential, in this day and age, to incorporate technology as much as possible. Children and young adults today are focused on technology in every aspect of their life. So, it only makes sense to bring it into the classroom, as well.
