For many, it’s hard to imagine a time when voting and elections (and their results) were as much at the forefront of every news broadcast as they are today. If we can instill the importance of voting and elections into the students of today, it will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the voting results of centuries to come. Whether the system is perfect or not, is not the issue. An understanding of voting as a right, and elections, is more important than whether or not the system is foolproof.
The technology involved in elections and voting has progressed through the centuries. Again, it may still have a few wrinkles to iron out, but it has certainly come along way. That cannot be denied. Your classroom needs to be influenced by technology as well. Only then can you provide, for your students, an atmosphere that encourages student involvement and improvement.
