Procedure: 1) Introduction: purpose of the lesson is to see the laws of motion in action.
2)Guide students to the internet site.
3)As a class, read through Bumper Cars and work through all physics vocabulary used that are listed in the glossary. Be sure to use the additional websites mentioned on the handout. As a group do the Bumper Car exercise.
4)Read together and discuss Introduction and Roller Coaster sections. Work through all physics vocabulary used in these sections that are listed in the glossary.
5)Break into groups of 4.
6)Assign each to group to read either the Carosell, Freefall and Pendulum sections and work through all physics vocabulary used in that section.
7)One student from each topic reports back findings.
8)While in their groups the students will design a successful roller coaster (in the roller coaster section).
9)Create an advertisement billboard for their Roller Coaster.
