| Description, Learning Objective: | Students build information literacy skills by conducting research and 1) learn about the American Revolution by creating a PowerPoint presentation. Students research the American Revolution using a structured research strategy, KWL (What we know, What We learned, What we want to know). | |
| Procedure: | Procedure: 1) Teacher should break the students into groups of 2-3 students. 1) Teacher introduces the project and reviews the project plan. Each group of students will work on a similar project with similar research. The presentations should include a discussion of the major events leading to American Independence. 2) Students research project during library and computer classes and at home. Students are required to write down their notes on the KWL Template (What we know, What we want to know, What we learned). The teacher reviews the notes to make sure the students are on track. 3) Students write slides long hand on the slide template. The teacher reviews the draft slides. 4) Students create their slides in Power Point during computer class. The Editor in the group is responsible for pulling the students' slides together and editing the final presentation. |
