| Description, Learning Objective: | Students will study animals and use Kid Pix to demonstrate what they have learned. |
| Procedure: | 1. Introduce a particular animal group. For example animals found on a farm, in the jungle, safari animals, ocean, etc. 2. Select several animals that you need to study. Provide students with information about each animal. 3. Stream videos to bring concepts alive for students. Use United Streaming. Link provided below. 4. Discuss the video and what they have learned about animals thus far. Take notes on chart paper, Smart Board or on the chalk board. 5. Choose five of the most popular animals that you have been studying. Assign each student an animal. 6. Introduce Kid Pix to students. Explain that they will be creating a slide show to show to the rest of their class. 7. Encourage students to create a slide for each one of the inquire questions listed below. This can be done with illustrations and the writing tool. Have students draw a picture and write a sentence describing what they drew.
8. Take each slide and create a slide show. This may be a lot of your younger students to do independently. If you have additional help such as an aid or parent helper, have them save each slide for students. 9. Add transitions to slide shows. 10. Have students present slide shows to classmates. They love to show off their work! |
