Robert Flanigan | Partner
Bob founded Educate LLC in 1999. Starting with a handful of schools, Educate has been pioneering innovative ways to drive technology use in school instruction, train teachers how to integrate these new tools, and ensure that schools have the optimal technology infrastructure and configuration.
Prior to that, Bob worked for eight years at Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan in structured finance. During that time, Bob helped found advisory boards at several South Bronx Parochial schools, where he saw the need for a better approach to technology use in schools.
Bob is a member of the Executive Committee of the Patron's Program at the Archdiocese of New York, which creates small groups of alumni and friends to adopt individual inner city Parochial schools. He is also Co-Director of The Principal Academy, a partnership with The Archdiocese of New York and the Diocese of Brooklyn to train a new generation of Catholic school leaders.
Bob holds a Masters of Management from the Kellogg School at Northwestern University and a BA from Dartmouth College.
Frank Hardart | Partner
Frank has been a Partner at Educate LLC since 2001. Frank's experience with technology goes back to his days as an Account Manager with Compuserve from 1988-1993. Compuserve was the predecessor of the Internet as we know it today .
Frank took this experience to NBC as Director of Business Development. He helped develop strategies to integrate the Internet into properties like Nickelodeon, MTV, and CNBC. Frank focused more on children and education during his next job as Vice President of Business Development for MaMaMedia. Spun out of the MIT Media Lab, MaMaMedia became the largest independent children’s website in the country offering learning activities for children.
Though on the business side, Frank became aware of the power of technology and the Internet to engage children in learning. This combined with his role as an advisory board member of an inner city school, compelled Frank to join Bob Flanigan at Educate LLC bringing educational technology to schools in New York City.
Frank's credentials include a BS in Engineering and a BA in English from the University of Notre Dame. He also holds an MBA from the JL Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University.
